Director, Institute for Advance Technology in the Humanities, University of
Virginia. The Director of the Institute for Advanced Technology in the
Humanities will lead an effort in the application of technology to research,
scholarship and creative activities in the humanities. The Director will
work closely with the Vice-Provost for Research, the Chief Information
Officer and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences to develop a
leadership role for the Institute in the area of application of technology in
the humanities. Responsibilities will include development and implementation
of a plan for obtaining the necessary financial and technical resources. The
Director will also hold an academic appointment in a humanities department at
a rank appropriate to his/her academic credentials. Applicants should
forward a curriculum vita and a statement of experience and goals in the area
of technology applied to the humanities to: Richard J. Sundberg, Chair;
