Hanna Kahana,

I happen to know of one interesting article on National Socialist
architecture, with a few references to Fascist Italy, as well.

Michaud, Eric. "National Socialist Architecture as an Accelration of Time,"
trans. Christopher G. Fox. _Critical Inquiry_, Winter 1993.

Hanna Kahana should look at Barbara Miller Lane's _Architecture and Politics
in Germany 1918-1945_ (Harvard University Press, 1968) for an excellent
study of this subject. Lane demonstrates very clearly how interrelated
architecture and politics were in Germany at this time. Especially
fascinating is her discussion of the Nazi clampdown on the perceived threat
of the Bauhaus. Sorry I can't recommend anything on Italian architecture,
but perhaps Lane's bibliography may provide some leads.
