Subject: Re: 10.0681 withering away & the overload
This is partially a response to Don Wilkins' post and partially my general
feeling on the role of programming in humanistic endeavors. There's text,
there's imaging, and increasingly, there's multimedia. All these the
computer can do. I don't want to reinvent the wheel--not until I've worn
it out nor do I think I'd be wisely allocating my time--humanistically
speaking--if I dumped Director in favor of C++. I'll never be able to
top, code-wise, even the worst application that's been inflicted on me but
I have a suspicion I could turn out a few passible CD-ROM's. Either way,
it takes a lifetime.
