    My thanks to the several people who wrote in response to my request for a
    "reality-check" on the operations of Humanist. No one who wrote was
    displeased or gave me any further work to do, so I am indeed grateful :-).
    I see nothing wrong with self-absorption as long as it results in
    self-knowledge, which I take these notes as contributions to. Further
    omphaloskepsis welcome.
