Subject: Funding opportunities for ACH-ALLC 2005

Dear All,

I'd like to draw your attention to this reminder and announcement
of financial assistance opportunities for graduate students and
young scholars at the ACH-ALLC 2005 conference at the
University of Victoria. Please share this information with your
students and colleagues!

It's not too late for graduate students and other young scholars to
think about attending the ACH-ALLC conference this year. The final
deadline for the submission of abstracts is November 22nd. This
year, there are several funding opportunities available, and I would
encourage people to consider them:

* The Association for Literary and Linguistic Computing awards up
to five bursaries to students and young scholars who are members
of the Association and who have papers or posters accepted for
presentation at the conference. Full details, and an application
form, are available at the ALLC website, www.allc.org.

* The Association for Computing in the Humanities is also starting
a bursary program this year, and will award up to five grants to
graduate students who are members of ACH and have a paper or
poster presentation accepted for presentation at the conference.
For more information and details of how to apply, please contact
lorna.hughes_at_nyu.edu

* The conference hosts, the University of Victoria, have applied for
grants to support Canadian graduate students attending the
conference. Preference will be given to those presenting papers or
posters.
