         Subject: Dry photography?

Hello,

In his famous essay, «As We May Think» (1945),
Vannevar Bush describes his imaginary computer,
the «memex», as working with «dry photography».
Being francophone, I do not know what it means.
Could someone tell me what is «dry photography»? Thanks.
