Humanist Discussion Group, Vol. 32, No. 179. Department of Digital Humanities, King's College London Hosted by King's Digital Lab www.dhhumanist.org Submit to: humanist@dhhumanist.org Date: 2018-11-12 07:19:23+00:00 From: Willard McCartySubject: CfP Winter School "Doing Animation History" Tuebingen University From: Rada Bieberstein Sent: 11 November 2018 16:33 I and my colleague, Erwin Feyersinger, orgqanise a winter school entitled "Doing Animation History" at Tuebingen University, Germany. At the centre of the winter school lies the following question: How can we write the history/histories of a field as heterogeneous and often marginalized as animation? We want to discuss methods of researching especially those aspects of animation history that are overlooked, hard to trace, and non-canonical. By promoting an interdisciplinary network of young scholars and established researchers of animation studies, media studies, art history, and history of science as well as film archivists, film educators and film festival organisers, we aim at fostering innovative approaches to writing the history/histories of animation in a collaborative atmosphere. We would kindly ask you to circulate the attached call for papers for the winter school among your students and other interested people. The winter school addresses explicitly advanced MA and PhD students. We are interested in classical paper presentations, but we also encourage innovative forms of input as contributions. Grants for travel and accommodation for accepted students are available. Thank you very much and with best wishes, Rada Bieberstein and Erwin Feyersinger Dr Rada Bieberstein Eberhard Karls Universität Institut für Medienwissenschaft Wilhelm Str. 50 72074 Tübingen rada.bieberstein@uni-tuebingen.de Attachments: CfP Doing Animation History(4).pdf: https://dhhumanist.org/att/29224/att00/ _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe at: http://dhhumanist.org/Restricted List posts to: humanist@dhhumanist.org List info and archives at at: http://dhhumanist.org Listmember interface at: http://dhhumanist.org/Restricted/ Subscribe at: http://dhhumanist.org/membership_form.php
