Subject: faculty positions in DH and CS

Dear Humanists,

I hope you will be interested in these two new tenure-track positions
at Durham University. We are growing and re-orientating our Computer
Science towards more applied fields (we already have a very strong
algorithmic research group). Thus these two positions represent a
really exciting new departure for us. They are intended to be of
interest to early- to mid-career scholars who have expertise in the
more technical aspects of DH, and would be capable of teaching within
a CS context, and making a significant contribution to DH across the
university.

The posts are at Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on
the candidates' level of experience. We are looking for candidates who
have produced, or have demonstrable potential to produce, internationally
excellent, or world leading research outputs; who are committed to the
highest levels of teaching excellence and to citizenship within their
department and the wider university.

You will see that the departmental academic contact is Professor Gordon Love,
Head of Department of Computer Science, but of course I'd be happy also to
provide information about DH at Durham on an informal basis
(c.l.h.warwick@durham.ac.uk).

Best wishes,

Claire
