Full or Associate Professor of Media and Communication Studies (full-time)

The University of St Gallen seeks to appoint a Professor of Media and
Communication Studies within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS)
from February 1, 2020. The successful candidate will investigate the role of
media in the interplay between state, economy and public sphere. Possible
research specialisms include theories of digital transformation, the analysis of
communication networks, forms of production and organization of social media,
trans-medial convergence, and media aesthetics.

She or he will co-direct the "Media" concentration in the Contextual Studies
program ( https://www.unisg.ch/en/studium/darumhsg/kontextstudium
/kontextstudium ), will be committed to interdisciplinary research and teaching,
and will cooperate with colleagues in the University's main disciplines. The
languages of instruction are German and English.

Applicants must have a PhD, first-rate publications, and outstanding university
teaching experience. The teaching requirement is 8 hours a week (approximately
2-3 courses) per semester. The University of St Gallen is an equal opportunity

PhP, to join our scientific-historical research project. This is a part time
position (19.5h per week) available until 31 October 2020. Pay grade up to TV-L
