Subject: 3RD LAGOS SUMMER SCHOOL IN DIGITAL HUMANITIES(LSSDH-2019): Looking for Support

Dear ALL,

The Lagos Summer School in Digital Humanities (LSSDH) has entered its third
edition this year. Organised by the Digital Humanities Unit, University of
Lagos, the Lagos Summer School in Digital Humanities provides a platform to
promote the principles and practice of Digital Humanities in Nigeria and
Sub-Saharan Africa, the first of its kind in this region. It also provides
an international space for scholars and researchers in the Humanities and
Social Sciences to receive training and acquire skills in a range of
computer applications and digital tools that will redefine research and
scholarship in these disciplines. (Details will be posted shortly).

The 2nd edition, LSSDH-2018, was generously funded by the Volkswagen
Foundation, Germany which enabled us to attract international DH experts
and facilitators from Europe and North America. The funding also made it
possible to invite about seventeen(17) participants from Cameroon, Ghana,
Togo and over eighty(80) young and early career scholars from different
tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

I would like to request useful suggestions from any colleague on any
funding organization that may be genuinely interested in supporting
initiatives in DH, Technology & Society, and related fields. We need their
help to fund the hosting of the 3rd Lagos Summer School in Digital
Humanities(LSSDH-2019) this year.

We would not want this Summer School to be suspended due to lack of
funding. Time is already running out and we are not sure that Volkswagen
may still be able to provide the support.

Thank you very much indeed. Kindly inbox me your suggestions:
