We are looking for a Research Librarian to join the IET Family!

We are the IET and we inspire, inform and influence the global
engineering community to engineer a better world. As a diverse home
across engineering and technology, we share knowledge that helps make
better sense of the world in order to solve the challenges that matter.
The IET Library and Archives team works to make the IET’s Designated
collections accessible to audiences across the world.

You will be a qualified information professional, with a passion for
making collections discoverable and relevant to a wide audience. You
will be responsible for managing and developing the IET Library’s
research service, and working with library users to facilitate access to
our collections and services. You will also be responsible for the
ongoing management of the IET’s unique library of rare books. This is an
exciting opportunity to develop your professional knowledge and skills
while working with a collection of national and international
significance in engineering and technology.

Main responsibilities

-- Develop a proactive research service as part of the wider
Knowledge Services strategy
-- Train and supervise Library staff to respond to information
enquiries
-- Facilitate training sessions, in person and online, for end users
-- Identify and implement new research tools
-- Manage and catalogue the IET’s rare book collections, in
conjunction with the IET Archivists
-- Contribute to the provision of Library and Archives Reading
Room services, including desk cover, retrieval of off-site material,
tours and events, document supply, enquiries, and researcher visits
