        Subject: PARTHENOS Foresight Study

Dear all,

The EU H2020 project PARTHENOS (http://www.parthenos-project.eu/) has
been carrying out a 'foresight study', which has been investigating how
(digital) research methods, technologies and infrastructures in digital
humanities and cultural heritage may develop in the medium term (up to
10 years), and how this development might be influenced and ‘optimised’
by the interventions of research institutions, infrastructure providers,
and (last but not least) funding agencies, in particular at the EU level.

The foresight study is described in more detail here
http://www.parthenos-project.eu/portal/the-hub/issue-2 . This site also
includes links to an initial version of the study report, and to a
questionnaire, the results of which will feed into an updated version of
the report, to be published in October 2019.

Your input as members of the DH community is invaluable and will help to
inform and influence the evolution of the (digital) humanities landscape
by identifying research and funding strategies and interventions that
can be taken forward by the various stakeholders active in this field,
including universities, research institutions, funding agencies, and
research infrastructure providers. The results will feed into strategic
R&D thinking within the European Commission and elsewhere. This
questionnaire thus gives you a unique opportunity to make your opinions
known, to influence these strategic developments over the coming years,
and to maximise the innovative potential of digital research in the
humanities.

Feel free to distribute where you will.

Cheers,

Mark
