Willard,

Thank you for this prompt. "What is Life?" was the first book I read after
wrapping up my degree in physics. Coincidentally, my Ph.D. studies in
English just began today.

I'm obviously biased, but must agree that learning physics is a good way to
"stimulate research" across disciplines.
