Thanks so much for your post about the work that this listserve does, Willard.
It has been a great resource for me, and you’ve done a great job moderating it.
While I think it’s unreasonable to expect any listserv to operate on the level
of a scholarly journal, I also think it’s common on many that discussions
inevitably advance to the point where it exceeds what you can do on a list, and
then reach a point where it’s reasonable to say, you need to just read my
article. And I think that’s fair, especially when it’s not behind a paywall.
