Not necessarily on the same page but felt it worth mentioning that Dot Porter
has been thinking about the uncanny valley in respect of digitised manuscripts
for a while now, so her work may be of interest to you.

Dot's a librarian and curator at the Schoenberg Institute for Manuscript
Studies in the Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books & Manuscripts
at the University of Pennsylvania.
