Dear Humanist:

Please pass this information onto colleagues whom you think might be
interested. Thank you!

------------------

In Spring 2020, we are offering two eight-week webinars:

Digital Editions, Start to Finish, taught by Laura Mandell and
Diane Jakacki

Python for DH Crash Course, taught by Bryan Tarpley

Digital Editions, Start to Finish

January 17, 2020 - March 6, 2020

This course is designed for Humanities professors, students, and staff who
wish to create a digital edition of a text that is scholarly quality and so
can be peer-reviewed for promotion and tenure and/or used in classes for
students who need access to rare texts. Participants will learn TEI-XML,
HTML, and CSS in order to style the look of the editions online.

Python for DH Crash Course

March 20, 2020 - May 8, 2020

Have you ever needed to perform repetitive, tedious tasks on your Digital
Humanities data, such as finding/counting/replacing a word or phrase in
hundreds of text files, extracting the text of individual pages from a TEI
documents, or scraping text from a long list of web pages? This course will
introduce participants to the fundamental concepts of procedural
programming as presented through the lens of the Python programming
language - all with an eye toward performing typical Digital Humanities
tasks.

Please see http://programming4humanists.tamu.edu/overview/ for a more
