The College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Hamad bin Khalifa University
(HBKU) in Qatar invites applications for Associate Professor
/ Professor Positions in Sociolinguistics / Corpus Linguistics /
Computational Linguistics / Social Computing / Digital Humanities or a
related field.

The successful candidate will contribute courses, mentoring, advising, and
thesis supervision to a recently approved PhD in Humanities and Social
Sciences.
The Teaching load is two to three courses per year as HBKU is a
research-intensive University.

Essential Requirements
A doctorate in Linguistics / Corpus Linguistics / Computational Linguistics
/ Digital Humanities / Social Computing or any related degree in Humanities.
A publication record commensurate with the rank being applied for.
University level teaching experience.
Demonstrated research and teaching experience.
Fluency in English.

Preferred Requirements
Associate or Full Professor Level
Track record or demonstrated interest in applying/using Digital Humanities
Methods
Knowledge of Data Visualization
Evidence of mentoring and thesis supervision skills.
Evidence of building university-community relations.
Experience obtaining grants or research income.

        Subject: Digital Humanities position at the University of the South

Three year position as Digital Technology Leader and Project Administrator,
Southern Studies program,  at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.
The position, funded by a Mellon grant, I supports the University’s
development of a new Center for Southern Studies.  The successful applicant will
contribute DH expertise to all the activities of the Center, including
undergraduate teaching and student and faculty research.  He or she will also
assist the Center’s director in administering the activities of the center,
which include conferences, individual speakers, and an archaeological field
school.  The successful applicant should have, in addition to DH experience, an
MA (PhD preferred) in a humanities discipline relevant to the study of the US
South.
