Director of Data Science Program

Bryn Mawr College invites applications for a Director of its new Data
Science Program with the experience and vision to develop this
cross-disciplinary initiative.  We seek to hire an accomplished
scholar-teacher, at the level of Advanced Associate or Full Professor,
with a deep and innovative background in the humanities or social
sciences and data analysis that is representative of the applied,
interdisciplinary nature of Data Science. This individual will join and
lead an existing group of interdisciplinary faculty and staff to build
the Data Science program within our liberal arts curriculum. The
successful candidate will lead efforts to infuse data science across
the curriculum, and will help raise the level of data-driven research,
awareness, and integration at Bryn Mawr. The new Director will support
faculty and student achievement, provide administrative leadership by
guiding curricular development and College initiatives to build a vision
and achieve goals, and coordinate and collaborate with key constituents
across campus.  The Director will have a reduced teaching load to
support these program development efforts.  Candidates for the position
must hold a Ph.D. in a humanities or social sciences discipline and have
significant experience in data science as applied to their discipline.
The successful candidate will also have a strong record of commitment to
teaching excellence.   The position will begin on August 1, 2020.
