        From: Willard McCarty
Subject: Research Associate in Ancient Greek History and Virtual Reality at Bristol

The University of Bristol Department of Classics and Ancient History is
looking to appoint a Research Associate who will be supporting the team
working on the AHRC-funded Project ‘The Virtual Reality Oracle (VRO): An
Immersive Experience of the Ancient Greek Oracle at Dodona'. The
position is part-time (50%) for three years. The exact balance of
responsibilities will depend on the researcher’s experience and skills,
but will comprise:

   * In the first half of the project, working with the team to develop
the VRO, supporting the gathering of relevant historical data. This
will involve independent research in response to the needs of the
project, and also the co-organisation of a historical research
     workshop.

   * In the second half of the project, working with the team to develop
materials to disseminate use of the VRO in academic, educational
(schools) and public contexts (museums) and investigating user
responses. This may involve giving public lectures and
demonstrations and academic presentations, as well as the
co-organization of workshops with users of the VRO; the role will
also include leading on the development of the project’s website.

We welcome applications from all members of our community and are
particularly encouraging those from diverse groups, such as members of
the LGBT+ and BAME communities, to join us.
