        Subject: a game of adjectives

In lapses from reading and writing, I have been making a list of
qualities that at least for me characterise digital computing. This is
an invitation to question and especially to contribute additional
adjectives to the following list, keeping to single words wherever
possible. Here it is so far:

physical
temporal
finite
discrete
reductive
fast
interactive
useful

My own intention is not to be parsimonious, at least not in the
beginning. We might eventually want to boil down a watery mixture to a
stubbornly irreducible essence, or to group or categorise, but for now
toss in whatever comes to mind. I promise to keep track and, when
contributions peter out, to publish the result on Humanist.

Let the game begin!

Yours,
WM
