Quick question for Gabriel and others.

I recently fell victim to the disappearance of browser support (plug-in) for
Shockwave. (A page BTW not captured by the Wayback Machine)

The piece in question was at one point in time part of a portfolio for job
application.

It resides on a university server so its persistence is not in question. Its
readability is.

I raise this because what needs to be archived is not only the resource but
the means to playback.

Do we need a wayback and playback machine?

How we would even got about supporting such a forensic project?
