The National University of Singapore (NUS) is a leading research-intensive
university (http://www.nus.edu.sg/) that is consistently ranked among the
world’s top universities. Established in 2004, the Department of
Communications and New Media (CNM) (http://www.fas.nus.edu.sg/cnm/) is a
leader in communication and new media research and education. It offers
undergraduate, honours and PhD programmes in communications and new media
studies, with an innovative curriculum that introduces students to key
debates in the areas of media studies, communication management,
interactive media design and cultural studies. Its curriculum provides
students with practical skills in social media management, user interface
design, and digital marketing. Its students undertake industry immersion
through its compulsory internship programme.

The Department also offers an undergraduate double degree with the School
of Business; undergraduate minors in Interactive Media Development and
Cultural Studies, and the Cultural Studies in Asia PhD programme. It has
research concentrations in media psychology, health communication and
cultural studies. Successful candidates for these positions will join an
engaging community of 44 full-time faculty, 29 part-time instructors, and
800 undergraduate and graduate students.


The Department of Communications and New Media at National University of
Singapore (NUS) invites applicants for the following positions.


(1)    Assistant Professor in Data Journalism

We seek applicants with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
media writing; online journalism; digital news production;
sports/science/financial/health/fashion journalism.  Candidates will have
demonstrated knowledge of industry trends and engagement in industry
practice, including a range of experience working in print/tv/radio news
production.


(2)    Assistant Professor in Data Analytics

(5)    Assistant Professor in Cultural Studies (specialisation in

economy; cultural policy; critical creative industry studies; soft power
and cultural diplomacy; multiculturalism and migration; community cultural

Candidates will have demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging trends
in cultural studies and critical theory, and a demonstrated engagement in
the cultural, political and ethical implications of race, gender,
sexuality, social class and social practice.


(6)    Assistant Professor in Data Communication

(8)    Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow

New Media and Communication. Candidates will have expertise in one or more
of the following areas: new media and mobility; cultural studies in Asia;
cultural theory and materialist cultural studies; critical software studies

studies in Asia; critical creative industry and policy studies; Asian film
and digital heritage studies; digital ethnography and qualitative research
methods.


(9)    Part-time Faculty in Social Media and Digital Marketing

We seek applicants with professional/management experience in Marketing and
Social Media/Digital Marketing. The applicant will have (industry related
and/or teaching) experience in one or more of the following areas: Social
Media;  and Digital Marketing.


(10)Full-Time Teaching Assistant in Interactive Media Design

We seek applicants with teaching assistant expertise and experience in one
or more of the following areas: interactive digital art and immersive
media; machine learning and text analytics; computational art and curation,
human interface/UX Design etc. The applicant will have industry related
and/or teaching experience in one or more of the areas.
