Subject: Another Elite Assistant Professorship at D-IAS, SDU - please share

Dear Colleagues,

A further elite Assistant Professorship has been announced at my
university, this time at a sister department. The position is within the
broad area of /Cognitive Aspects of Human Interaction/ and is sponsored
by the Department of Language and Communication at the University of
Southern Denmark (SDU). It is affiliated with the Danish Institute for
Advanced Study (DIAS)

DIAS is a national elite center at SDU, and its mission is to "bring
outstanding researchers together in an interdisciplinary center for
fundamental research and intellectual inquiry. We exist to encourage and
support curiosity-driven research in fields of science and humanities,
and thereby unlock new revolutionary ideas." DIAS includes chairs from
all five faculties at SDU and a number of external chairs from the
University of Copenhagen. The new Assistant Professor will become Fellow
at DIAS, and also affiliated with our Centre for Human Interactivity.

For the new vacancy, the department is looking for "applicants working
with cognitive aspects of human interaction. Applicants are assumed to
do research on embodied, enactive, linguistic, sociocultural, or
ecological aspects of human interaction by applying methods from, or
compatible with, embodied, radical embodied, enactive, ecological,
distributed, and/or situated cognitive science. Applicants are expected
to pursue game-changing ideas through empirical work." The full call can
be found here: https://www.sdu.dk/en/service/ledige_stillinger/1107920.
The application deadline is 6 September 2020.

The aspiration for the new position is for it to provide a significant
addition to the strong research community that the department has
created at SDU for the past decade. Under the rubric of
/ecological/distributed language and interactivity/, they integrate
research on language and interaction with post-cognitivist theorising in
cognitive science.

I would ask you to please share information about the vacancy with
potential applicants.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards
