As a part of a highly collaborative team in CRDDS, the Data Librarian provides leadership and support for a range of services related to accessing, using, manipulating, and managing quantitative and other types of scientific data to meet the needs of our community. This position provides outreach, consultation, and instruction in various modalities on topics such as finding and accessing particular types of data, preparing data for analysis, using software for working with data, and managing data. They foster relationships with departments, research institutes, and laboratories in order to provide support across campus, including for the creation of data management plans for grant proposals. The Data Librarian actively contributes to and promotes data curation services in the open access and open source CU Scholar (Samvera) institutional repository as well as in disciplinary data repositories. They work closely with a variety of partners in this work, including subject specialist librarians and experts in fields across campus. This is a renewable, non-tenure-track faculty position. Successful candidates will be expected to engage in research and professional service activities. -- Requirements: Please address each of these qualifications in your application materials: * Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited library program or Ph.D. (or other terminal degree) in another field. * Experience and/or coursework involving use and analysis of quantitative or scientific data. * Demonstrated commitment to a user-centered approach to data services. * Ability to cultivate and advocate for an environment of diversity and inclusion. * Proven dedication to an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to data services. * Familiarity with one or more applications for working with data. * Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. * Demonstrated ability to carry out project-based work. -- Desirable Qualifications: Evidence of any of the following will strengthen candidacy: * Experience providing instruction, consultation, or outreach at the university level. * Demonstrated experience developing and/or implementing policies, procedures, or best practices for data acquisition, access, management, or curation. * Commitment to the value of open and sustainable access to research and scholarship. * Knowledge of key sources of quantitative or scientific data. The LINCS project (https://lincsproject.ca) is seeking an Ontology Systems Analyst whose interests span computer science and the humanities, and who is keen to make a difference in how cultural knowledge circulates online. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a substantial contribution to a critical infrastructure project aiming for high impact within and beyond the academy. Reporting to the LINCS technical manager, the Ontology Systems Analyst will provide leadership in the development, modification, validation, maintenance, and application of ontologies that will form an important part of the LINCS infrastructure. This job is a full-time research scientist position for the duration of the 3-year grant, with the possibility of extension during the operations period if funds permit.
