And I, for my part, would like to know whether the OED is accessible
online. Thanks in advance for any possible info.

[Editor's note. The OED is available in online form, for a non-trivial
price. Contact Oxford University Press. The software written to access
the online text is also very expensive. I think the two together cost ca.
$25K, but you should check out the exact price with OUP. Any institution
that purchases the online OED2 database is contractually obliged to keep
those outside that institution from accessing it. The best things in life
may be free, but the OED isn't among them. --WM]
